The Two Bells, Blairgowrie, was originally opened on 1st June 1982 by Bruce and Betty Bell, the "Two Bells". They ran the shop successfully until retiring in 2002, at which point John and Maureen Robb, then proprietors of Dott-Thomson of Cupar, Fife, another independent hardware retailer, took up the mantle, purchasing the business and keeping the Two Bells alive. John & Maureen successfully operated both shops until 2021, when they too decided it was time to retire.
My name is Tony Douglas and I have worked in The Two Bells since 1st October 1985 - easy to remember as that was my 17th birthday. I served my time here, learning what it takes to best serve the folks of Blairgowrie and, over the years, working my way up from junior shop assistant to store manager. And finally in 2021, with the help and support of John & Maureen and my family, I was able to take over The Two Bells and become the new proprietor.
And so, it is with great excitement that I embark on this journey to keep the 30 year legacy of The Two Bells alive, welcoming you into our store, not only from Blairgowrie and the surrounding area but anywhere in this digital world we now live in.
